Just in case if some of you didn't read up on the new motherboard form factor, there will be a new technology introduced with the new BTX form factor called PCI Express. This will be a significant boost in speed because it will run 16x faster than the current PCI bus, among many other improvements.

And guess who announced that they're developing a product to be released with it? Just take a gander (http://www.nvidia.com/object/pci_express.html).

This is very exciting, for a geek like me, to see that the industry is finally moving forward with an aging technology. Now if they can just lose that damned floppy drive....

Where have you been Dante? There are actually quite a few new computers nowadays that don't come with floppies. They usually have a way of hooking one up, just in case, but they don't make it easy. It's just like ISA slots. Has anyone seen one of those on a recent motherboard?

What, I've seen several server specs that utilize PCI-X. Mainly from IBM but still. Can you say hot swap redundant pci cards.
