Here's Poll for you guys. Ok before anyone gets bent out shape. I've been thinking on this. It's not that I want to make money, but I need to pay for the electricity. My bill almost doubles when we game here. I've been letting it slide for a while. Even when I ask for help not every one does. Those that do are appreciated and you know who you are. Gaming usualy costs anywhere from $30-$80 extra depending on size. I usualy get around $20-$30. I've figured out in the time that we have gamed here I've paid out of my pocket over $500 extra to cover the power bill. That's a conservative amount. You can do the math. I'll let you guys decide. And yes I'm very serious about this. If it's a problem to help out gaming can be done elsewhere.

I have no problem with helping out. It works out for this gaming session to be about $6 to cover electricity costs. But $5 would cover it most times, I would think.

I also have no problem with helping. I think maybe we should all talk about the level of helping at our next session. A few of my thoughts to throw into the mix though...

1. I don't want people not to come to gaming because they feel they have to pay or feel guilty about it.

2. Some of us cover certain expenses already such as Dante paying the monthly fee to host our new web site, Kyraath pays the domain registration, etc etc. Granted these costs are no where near the monthly electricity, just adding info to the grand scheme of things.

3. Its hard to calculate the value of the convienence of gaming at your own house. I know I personally would pay that extra to kill 4 hours worth of driving.

These are just a few of the things I'm sure the collective group would be thinking. Again, I have no problem helping out and I think you have every right to ask for money because after all it is your house and your electricity. We need to come up with some guidelines and just stick to them. Such as, when its a small session, then only core OOE helps out with the cost. A larger session, then everyone who has been there more than twice helps pay. I don't know, we'll have to see what everyone thinks.

Man that sure was a lot longer than it was supposed to be. All I really needed to say was "Yes, I'll help, but not everyone might agree." heh Anyway, we'll figure it out on Saturday.

I absolutley agree. Even though I'm as much a culprit for not pitching in each gaming session I totally agree we should pitch in for utilities used. Death, if I don't pony up my share, you have my permission to boot me in the back of the head.

As for me covering the cost of the website, it's no big deal. I figure it's just my way of contributing to the group. Call it penance for me not showing up to 100% of the gaming sessions.
