I propose a new law be put into effect that no person may purchase a cell phone unless they are capable of hitting the MUTE button when the phone rings when they cannot answer it.

FOR INSTANCE! I had to talk over a customers cell phone that had a MOST ANNOYING loud ring to it and she just let it ring until it went to voice mail.

LOL, I didn't know that torqued you off too? That is seriously like one of my biggest pet peeves. I hate it when peoples phones are just ringing and they have no idea its even going off! Wake the F*CK UP MORON! I leave mine on vibe almost all the time so as to not disturb the rest of the human population. Be good humans.

Yep, mine's on vibrate as well, aka (and the PHONE calls it this--MANNER mode.)

Anyhow, that is truly irritating, I mean, why do people have to put their ringer on 'you can hear the ring over a NASCAR race' volume anyway? However, people who find it approprite to SPEAK into their phones at ear splitting/yelling volume while in a private office are the ones who make me long for bullets.....

My phone has an option that vibrates first then rings. This is handy for me just in case I'm doing something that somehow prevents me from feeling the "manner mode". I always make my best attempt to answer it before it rings just out of courtesy. It's a rare occassion where I have to let the phone ring to go to voicemail and when that happens I try to cover the speaker as much as I can because I know it annoys people like all of you. ;)

Cell phones are nice.. Mine is always on Vibrate... That is all we have now we are in our new home. No more landline.. All cell phones... Much cheaper...

My friends phone does Peter Griffin's laugh from family guy. That one is actually OK because it makes me laugh so hard every time it rings. But everyone else sucks. :p

Cover the speaker?!??! I would be surprised if your phone does not have to the option to mute while its ringing. If your phone is that stupid and old, its time to upgrade.It isn't that really. It's because I carry my phone in my pocket and if I'm in a situation, like talking to somebody, I leave the phone in my pocket instead of trying to dig it out. I'm tired of buying belt clips for my phone because I keep breaking them.
