Xbox360?

Ok, I've been contemplating the Xbox360. I need some assistance to see if this is a good choice. First, those of you how know me know how I feel about consoles. I am a PC gamer and always will be a PC gamer. Consoles do indeed have their place. I dont think consoles are a good platform for FPS games such as Call of Duty 2, Quake 4, etc. I think consoles are good for racing, arcade style and adventure games. The other thing I hate about consoles is the cost of the games. 50 bucks for some games that you will only play for about 5-10 hours total play time. So, with all that, I pose the following questions/issues.

1. Will I find the Xbox360 worthwhile if those are the only types of games I will play?

2. No HDTV. I know the Xbox360 shines on HDTV, is it even worth it on a regular TV?

3. Xbox Live. Are you required to subscribe? What are the different levels and the pros and cons to each? Again, considering the types of games I would play.

4. Any other comment, suggestions, ideas that I should know about or consider?

Well I love mine. Xbox Live you have to pay for to play with other people. To download content is free however.

The HDTV question is the main concern I had. I do not have an HDTV and it looks GREAT.

I have to say FPS games work well on the Xbox/X360, it takes some time getting used to but it works. Halo, Halo2, Perfect Dark Zero. All great games.

The 360 has some great games(Condemned,PGR3,PDZ). It has some great games soon to be released. Fight Night Round 3, Ghost Recon, ES3:Oblivion.

I find it to be worth while, if you do decide to get one we can play some sick co-op games. Thats the great thing about live CO-OP rocks.

Still waiting on mine. I could have got one on Day 1 but waiting until they have some more games and some games I WANT to play. The better games are NOT backwards compatible so I'm left at a loss. I'll decide within the year if it's worth it, right now? It's not. DOA 4 looks freakin awesome.

Just got my Xbox 360. The graphics are awsome. Needs more games though, can't wait till it get's into mainstream. I find most of the good games I have on my regular XBox works so that's really cool.
