Hey all!
It's been a while since I posted last but I was wondering what your opinions are with buying a 64 bit athlon. Is it worth it or hype. I know a lot of you have them and some don't and I was wondering if guys could just keep me your opinions why you did or did not choose them. I have heard people having issues finding drivers and stuff like that. Any validity to those statements?

Everything is heading to 64 bit so it's safe to jump on the bandwagon. As for issues with finding drivers that's only valid if you're using the Windows XP 64bit version and even that is becoming less of an issue every day. The Athlon 64 will run perfectly fine with current 32 bit XP.

If you do decide to plunge into the full 64 bit world with XP64 then you had better do some research to make sure that your favorite game or application will run on it. There are more issues with some games playing on that flavor of XP that driver issues. XP64 will NOT run any application that still uses 16 bit code. I've tried. I'll try to find a couple of links that will help with that research.

Go for it dude. Its a no-brainer anymore. Also, if you are going to go 64-bit, you may as well get an X2 for dual core capabilities.
