Ok, I know I am not the only Scifi fan in this humble little group and I love to talk about this with others who appreciate Scifi like I do. What did you guys think?
SG-1 - The Forth Horseman Part II. Good Episode, was a little supprised that they have already killed of Gerak. I expected him to be a long term character since they had Lou Gosset Jr. Playing the part. I like what they are doing with the Sodan, the Ninja/Jaffa, curious to see how they play out.
SGA - The Hive. Great Episode. I love what they are doing with the Wraith in making them territorial and warlike with each other. Have to Love Sheppard and his smartass comments and once again McKay steels the show when he goes into freak out mode after taking the wraith enzyme. Is Ford alive? I think he will be back, too much history with the character to be gone for good.
BSG - Resurrection Ship Part #1. Kick Ass Episode. Without a doubt one of the best so far. After the cliffhanger of the Pegasus Episode, an even bigger cliffhanger at the end of Resurrection Ship Part #1. You think Starbuck will actually pull the trigger on Admrial Cain? I love the darkside to this show and guess what the Pegasus is not going to disappear she is staying in the fleet. It is only a matter of time before Adama becomes the new Admrial. I cannot wait until Fridays episode, it will be good.

Heh. Nice recovery.
Anyhoo, since I did happen to see the episodes already, here's my two cents...
SG-1: Meh. It's still ok to watch because it's sci-fi but it's been really losing interest for me. Although I predict they'll play the Orlin (the kid) wild card later in the series to save our asses once again.
SGA: Sheppard is an awesome character for the O'Neil fix I still crave but no longer get satisfied from SG-1. I agree with you, Jafo, Ford will definately be back just because of how they dialogged about it at the end.
BSG: Now here's the reason for Sci-fi friday! Admiral Cain is going down but not from Starbuck pulling the trigger. I think Cain's first officer, Fisk, is going to mutiny. The little chat between him and Tigh kinda gave a bit of insight toward this. Adama will ultimately end up being the full leader of the colonies because President Roslin is about to die and, well... so is Cain. ;) Can't wait for this friday!!

SG-1, Unfortunatley I have to agree, SG-1 has started to loose my interest but it is still SG-1. Just curious because Vala is going to be a full cast memeber in Season 10, time to change the name to FarGate.
BSG.. Yes it is the reason for Sci-fi Friday. Take a look a the previews again for this weeks comming episode. There is a small clip that shows someone pulling a gun on Admrial Cain. It looks like a womans hand to me, which suggests Starbuck.
I don't think Cain's first officer will try to kill Adama, especially because of his relationship that he is building with "Tigh". You can tell the dis-contentment of him because of what happened when the Pegasus abandoned the 15 civilain ships.
The Roslin factor, they wont get rid of her character. She is a major part of the show. If she is gone that means Baltar would be the president. He is already being mind fraked by the Cylons.
Dbone?? I know you watch these also. Come on now you must have something to say.

BSG: Just watched the preview and your right Jafo, maybe Startbuck does pull the trigger. The hand is certainly female and those are fatigues she is wearing, so maybe...
I suppose your right about Roslin. They must have some miraculous cure coming up for her because she's deteriorating fast. The doctor only gave her a month to live. We shall see.

Here I am.
SG1 - I still love it. Yes its not the same without RDA but I still enjoy the episodes. I really like what they are doing with the Ori. It is the true battle of good vs evil. I don't think they will do anything more with Orlin, his brain is trashed and he knew it would happen going in. It was a one way trip.
Atlantis - Also great. I love Sheppard. I agree Ford will be back but I'm a little worried about how they will bring him back and make it feasable. I mean, those hive ships exploded and no survivors. McKay always steals the show, he has become one of my favorite characters. I also like they are making the Wraith more territorial but it feels they did that just to make so it was a winnable war. Oh well, I can overlook that cause its an awesome show.
BSG - I don't watch. Yes, I know. Let me explain. I understand fully that this is an awesome show as well. I am not disputing that. I have not seen the first seasons and it is now too late to catch up. Yes, I know they are on DVD. I simply do not have the time to watch 2 full season of BSG on DVD and get caught up with the current season. I also do not want to start watching halfway through the whole series. It is just a sad truth that I will not be watching BSG.

SG1 - I think this new version of the show still needs time to develop. The Ori are an interesting idea, but the transition from the RDA era happened too fast and there was not really much of a transition, season 8 ends with a great episode and O'neil is gone. I really miss RDA, he made the show what it is, not that I have a problem with Crighton, oops did I say that again, Mitchel. I just hope they keep with Mitchel being Mitchel and not being Crighton. Don't get me wrong. I love SG-1, and have loved it ever since it came out on Showtime. SG-1 was originally only suppost to last 5 seasons and they have already confirmed to do season 10. No one could have expected this show to be what it is and I think Atlantis will do the same as long as they keep the ideas original.
BSG - It is honestly worth getting the DVD's and watch them. You can get every episode up to the one that just aired on Friday. If I was still in Colorado I would lend you all of them, because I already have every episode on DVD. This version of BSG is completely different from the original except for the character names and the remodeled Galactica. The show has a darkside of Sci-fi that you do not see in your average Sci-fi show. A darkside that is the exact opposite of what drove Star Trek into re-runs after a 18 some year straight run on the air with 4 different series since 1987.
The great things about BSG is.. you do not have to be a Sci-fi fan to understand and appreciate the story line. The special effects are great, but it is not what makes this series, it is the incredible storyline. You really get to understand the characters in a serious manner and watch what they do to survive by the skin of their ass.
There is no such thing as being politically correct with BSG, another factor that ended Star Treks great run. You get so imbeded into the story that you cannot get enough. If you get the DVD's I promise you will not want to stop watching BSG. It is honestly that good of a show that has already been confirmed for season 3. There is still plenty of time to jump on board and enjoy it.

[THE NEW? Episodes]
The new SG-1 is nice, I love Ben Bowder and really really liked Claudia Black (who I think should have been a regular character) she brought some comedy relief with Daniel and gave another oulet to a story. Now? We find Ben Bowder's character getting into trouble left and right, he gets captured, escapes and repeats. Getting a little old but I'm sure it'll pick up. The Ori are more interesting than the Goa'uld like Apophis (who i didn't like, who had NOTHING on Ra, Ra = awesome).
SG-1: Atlantis. : Tayla? (sp)?, Ronin and Dr. Weir ruined it for me. Dr. Weir = Janeway from StarTrek: Voyager. Instead of actually making decisions based on merit and the best for the team, she does moronic things just like Janeway did with the crew of Voyager. Ronin? God, how cookiecutter retarded can you get. Tyr Anasazi of the Zodiac Pride (yes Andromeda) was a better version of him, even then you had to take him in small doses. Ronin is a complete waste of paper. They could have found a better actress/character concept for Taila?/Tayla whatever. Also, my second most hated character who ironically used to be one of my favorites was Lt. Ford. Ok, I get it he's a wild card now but really they screwed up a decent character. Now? He's prolly my most hated of all characters in Scifi history with Janeway, Ronin, Wesley Crusher, and Jar Jar Binks. Also, why have a Jack O'Neil ripoff with Sheppard? Anyone else see that? For the brightest minds of the Earth, the people on Atlantis make really stupid mistakes and keep doing them. The only salvation for the show is the witty Dr. Rodney McKay and the Scottish/Irish Medical Doctor (forgot his name).
Battlestar Galactica: now it's FINALLY getting interesting again.(The miniseries was one of my all time favorites) They stopped doing the same crap and revisiting the same DRAMA over the last few episodes of the season. Look we understand, Adama and the Madam President don't get along, move on you've wasted a season about it. I just got back into it, not a huge fan of the President but really like the cold hearted Admiral of Pegasus. (I don't have a thing against women in power or in lead roles, but please stop writing them or picking actresses that just plain suck). Ok, forgive the poor structure of this post and grammar, it's already been a really late night for me and now I'm sleep depraved at work and have 10 hours to go. (been up for the better part of 20hours)
-------> Teal'c getting more dialogue than the first seasons combined? Good or bad, he's getting decent.
That's my piece on the matter of scifi nght.

I think she pulls the trigger, the crew members of Galatica are COMPLETELY loyal to Adama. They'd fire on Pegasus in a second if that's what Adama ordered. Starbuck is like a daughter to him, Apollo IS his son whether he likes it or not. Apollo will take a bullet for Starbuck and Starbuck will put a bullet in someone for either Adama.
Do you think Helio and Chief will get off scott free from killing an officer of Pegasus in the time of war? --- I think that it'll be "overlooked" and later ignored when brought up.
by the way I've been watching SG-1 since the beginning ever since I saw the original Stargate I was a fan. I like the newer versions of the characters Jack O'Neil (MacGuyver rocks) and Michael Shanks compared to the others. Watched the first episodes --- and to present of the other two. I've literally seen every Stargate episode and consider myself a trivia buff. -- feel free to call me on it anytime.

OK, I'll say this again. I understand it is worth getting the DVD's and watching this show. I understand it is a great show. I do not have the TIME to watch them and get caught up. If I had the time, I would do exactly that but I don't so its not gonna happen.

If I can get caught up on shows with my schedule of work, family of four kids, a dog, three bands and now also getting back into WoW, I think you can find 40 minutes to squeeze in a show here and there. Before you know it you'll be current and be able to join in the bliss known as Battlestar Galactica.

SG-1 - My opinion on the Ori is still out. I have mixxed feelings about them so far but what they are building is going to make them interesting. They are building a war between the ancients and the Ori and it is going to end up crossing over into Atlantis. Col Mitchel though, he has potential. I like the character, I just want them to leave the Crighton factor out. Like I said before, we want Stargate SG-1.. not Fargate SG-1.
SG-A Tayla and Ronin are not bad characters, I think they fit into the mix of things. Dr. Wier is alot like Captain Janeway from ST Voyager, and I get tired of the hints of political correctness. Lt Ford, was a weak character, that is why he is no longer a main character, I am much happier with Ronin than Ford, but I will agree with you, he does remind me of Tyr from Andromeda. Andromeda was one of the worst Sci-fi shows ever to be played on TV. Sheppard though, is a strong character and although he does remind me of O'neil, I really like his character. I am also really happy with Col Caldwell, nice addition to have "Director Skinner" on the show now.
BSG - Keep in mind with BSG that only a matter of 6 months has passed in the show since the mini-series. I love the fact that they are so detailed and the relationship between Adama and President Roslyn is a major factor within the story line. Roslyn's character, eventhough she has only been given a month to live, will not die. Admrial Cain is a devious biatch, and her character is about survival and obviously has no need for civilians on her ship or in need of the fleet. Remember who first said Cain needed to die? It was Roslyn who told Adama to kill her, then Adama orders Starbuck to kill Cain. We will find out friday night. I don't think Starbuck will pull the trigger, if she does I will really truly love her character. Someone is going to kill Cain, it is only a matter of who.

SG-1 I'm an avid fan of the show and when Farscape ended I was kinda let down until they added the main characters to SG-1.
Claudia Black still plays the ever vigilant powerful female (reminds me so much of Darkchilde lol lol) and he kinda takes a flashlight sized spotlight from Dean Anderson (who can beat McGuyver? lol). They've faught numerous enemies and now that they're figuring out how to fight the Oraei (yes that's the spelling not O ree ORI, Much like Goo ahh ooeld weren't Gould but G'oauld) Anyways I hope the Ancients get off their passive butts and lend a hand. It'll be a while before Claudia shows back up again she's on the Oraei home world.
SG-A Lt Ford? not a Main Character anymore?! You obviously haven't seen the end of last seasons episode and the first of this one. He's back as a main character but he's more of a Neutral Aggressive character now with his peons. That Wraith Enzyme is wreaking havoc on his judgement and making him ever so paranoid. How badass was it when the queens fired on each other? SG-A has alot of stuff to discover about Atlantis and the surrounding colonies. If they can ever find a good couple of ZPMs the Stargate Atlantis to Stargate Earth will be reconnected.

Thanks for the correction on the spelling of the Oraei. I was too lazy to look it up. :)
I agree, Ford is NOT a main character. Yes he was in last episodes but I doubt every episode this season will be about the war with the Wraith. There will be side missions and side stories. Just like the preview for tomorrows episode. I didnt see Ford anywhere in that. Yes, he will continue to be on the show, just not as a main character.

Thats why I have been calling this Fargate SG-1, don't get me wrong. I love Farscape and SG-1 and I think it was a good idea on the marketing end of it to bring Ben Browder and Claudia Black onto the show because it will bring in the Farscape fans. It is all about fan base and lets face it, replacing Richard Dean Anderson is not easy.
Just as a clarification, what Mean by Ford as a main character is he is not in every episode like he was in the first season. He definatley has his place in the show, but he is no longer a regular cast member. Here is a little supporting information on Ford.
http://www.gateworld.net/news/2005/01/franckswillberecurringinse.shtml
As far as the spelling of the Oraei/Ori. From all the articles I read, "Ori" is the only way I have seen it spelled. Just an example when they talk about season 9 episode 3 "Origin"
http://www.gateworld.net/sg1/s9/903.shtml
For those of you who have never been to Gateworld, I highly recommend it. I find that probably 95%+ of what they give as spoilers happens down to the details on each specific show when they happen.
If you don't like spoilers then don't go to this site, this is not a site you will like.
