Half-Life 2 Delayed

I had hoped this wouldn't happen. They've had so much time to prepare for this and have waited so long, they never should have said a release date unless they were 100% sure they could hit it. I'm a little disappointed.

Doesn't surprise me since Doom 3 is being pushed back.

You guys think if Doom 3 hadn't been pushed back that Valve would have stuck to their announced Sept. 30th date?

I read an interesting tidbit about why the newest games are getting pushed back. It's not program problems but hardware. The dev teams are waiting on new hardware that can run the games to their satisfaction. The rumor is Doom is done and ready. But JC won't sign off on it till there are video cards that can handle the stress. I'll see if I can find that page again.
