So not sure if anyone else has seen this webiste but it flat out rocks. I guess it's ran in Russia and the protection rules are looser, but wow! Full album downloads for less then $2.00!! I've put $10.00 on my account and it works fine. Best things about it are you have NO limitations to your downloads, once you've downloaded them, you can do what you want with them. Also you can download files in many different compression schemes. Oh yea the site is: http://www.allofmp3.com

Check it out and see what you think, I did some research and it's gotten some good reviews, most complains are that it's slow but it's not that bad, especially for how cheap it is and no protection rules!!!

If you are unaware of it, then you are obviously not worthy.

If you want to legally aquire mp3s, this site is probably the cheapest out there. It was listed in PC Magazine about 6-7 months ago and I told a couple people about it. Since then, they've legally purchased several gigs worth of music. Spawny's not kidding about the prices either. They are really, really cheap.

Heh, you're going to jail. Don't use any of those kinds of tools, they are so heavily monitored by the MPAA and RIAA. You need less traceable sources.

IRC undernet ftw! f all the rest!

Yup, pretty much any of the major file sharing clients including Bit Torrent are now subject to random monitoring from the RIAA and MPAA. Especially fun is the new trend of putting out false files. HBO is doing this with their new series Rome. Normally you get about five hits for a single episode, right now you can do a search and find thousands, with almost every file being useless junk. Undernet and the various IRC networks are probably being monitored too, but it is pretty hard to tell who has what if you aren't the one doing the advertising. Right now I pretty much only download what I could have recorded myself anyway. I figure at least I will have a legal leg to stand on if they decide to track me down.

eh, I've NEVER heard of irc being monitored, no one ever getting in trouble using irc as a file sharing device, and no mention of it in any major article I've ever read.... and you can find f'ing anything out there.

i think since it's basically a worldwide 'chat' servious it creates problems to step in from a legal standpoint - plus there is really no client between the files and the user when the files are being distributed, at least not in the same sense that there is with a P2P client that downloads from all possible sources.

of course, this thread is about legally obtaining files and that does seem like a hawt price, but if I'm paying im going to the record store and buying the actual album itself.

I like this service because all of the irc dl'ing I've done before, you never know if you are getting the complete song or not. I really like this service, no spyware, nothing to install, cheap cheap cheap, and great quality at any format I want and a HUGE library that grows everyday. Also did I mention it's CHEAP!!!

I finally got around to checking out this site and I gotta say, this might be the first time I've ever agreed with you Spawny. Cheap plus the ability to choose your encoding format, quite nice.

Crap, I know this story is a little old, but I just found out this weekend. I guess the best thing for me is that I didn't have a lot of money in credit so I didn't loose any money. But shit this sucks, I really liked this site and frequested it a LOT!! Plus I just used it maybe two weeks ago....

So now what??????
