Recents news events have brought this discussion out in the open again. So, I thought we would talk about here too. For those of you that dont follow the news, this week and 85 year old man plowed through a Farmers Market in California killing 10 people.

My opinion is that you should have to get tested more regulary to maintain a drivers license. Here's what I think the test "schedule" should look like: 16, 18, 25, 35, 45, 55, 60, 65, and then every year after that. I also think that once you hit 60 or 65, you can't take the driving test with first getting a "passing grade" from your eye doctor. Also, the eye doctor test shouldn't just be a reading test, they should test for depth perception, peripheral vision, etc.

I'll just start with that and see where it takes us....

Heh, when i first read the title I thought you were proposing a law to license drivers, you know: "video driver", "sound driver"

I fully agree. Once people reach a certain senility (otherwise known as age) the test should be done once a year, and I think the person giving the test needs to be very strict. Driving too slow with the left hand blinker on permanently can be just as dangerous as driving too fast.
