Testing out the online DKP data base. It is going to be a little bit of work. It?s not as "Magic" as I thought it would be. There is going to be a lot of book keeping involved. I think we should appoint a guild member from each guild to keep the records for it. If you guys have any experience with it let me know ty
I am not 100% sure on what we should do as far as item value. Should it be a bidding war or should we have a set cost on epic/blue/green? I would love to hear what you guys thing. I think bidding is the best bet IMO.

I figured most of it was test data but I wasn't sure if somehow it pulled data directly from the game or something. And I know he's close to 60, just didn't know if it happened or not.

Troika Point System v 1.2
For a long time I did not like the idea of a point system. I consider myself a casual gamer (yeah right) so any type of point system I thought would be lame. Well after research and the realization of what makes you successful with endgame runs. A point system is a must and it?s the most fare way to distribute items to the guild. The people that put more effort into runs by showing up and completing the instances will have a better chance to get there set first. This in turn will affect people that don?t have as much time to play as others. Unfortunately it takes a ton of time and effort to obtain your gear. Until Blizzard implements something to better the casual gamer this is the best choice for Troika.
If you have any questions concerns/issues with anything here let me know. I am open to suggestions.

Rules of Troika Point System
How to get points: Show up for end game raids sponsored/Scheduled by any of the guilds Leaders in Troika. The event has to be posted so all members have the same chance to get into the raid, and accumulates points. You will not receive points by pickup group runs or from make shift last second runs. Points will take affect in the next run, not the current raid.
How to spend points: Points will be spent on item drops that your class can use.
Bidding structure for acquiring loot: Items will be purchased through an auction that will take place during the raid. The master looter will be in charge of running the auction and hand out the loot to the highest bidder. If there is multiple applicants that have the same amount of points to bid they will then roll on the item. Who ever wins the item spends the points.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For example: Majorpaly bids 5 point, so does Whinnypaly. They then roll for the item Majorpaly wins the roll he spends the 5 points. Whinnypaly does not win so he does not spend the 5 points.
You do not pay the 5 points to roll. You need to have the 5 points to be eligible to roll on the item. Who ever loses the roll does not lose the points.
Bonus points: You will get a 1 point bonus for showing up to the raid 10 minutes before the scheduled time.
Negative points: If an item drops and all the members that have the points to purchase it already have it, and a member of the guild has his first run and can use it. He can purchase the item even thought he does not have any points. He can buy the blue item for -2 points, and a purple for -3 plus all of his points he will earn on this run. If this situation happens again for the same member he can purchase another item and be negative.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For example: Giantstalker drops all of the members in group have the item except for Lonelytimmy. It is Lonelytimmys first run into MC he does not have any points to purchase the item. So he can purchase the items for all of his point he is going to acquire from the current run and have a -3 points after the run. This can repeat and Lonely Timmy can have a -6 if he wanted.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also note when we have the first run. We will all have negative points to purchase the items!
That?s all for now.

So yeah, I've never really thought I'd be a part of a point system before, but now that we are becoming an organized group with many many people involved, it only makes sense to go with the system. Pulling this many people together requires some sort of organization on how the "good stuff" will be given to people. A couple things that I've seen other people doing that might be nice. If we have problems with people arriving late to events, we might think about adding a "bonus point" for coming to the raid 5 minutes before the start instead of after the start. In order for this to be successful we are going need to keep everyone aware of where the current points are listed (on the secret join website) and how they can monitor their progress. It will also be good to assign a single person from each guild to be responsible for keeping track of who came and who stayed and how many points each person gets/spends.
We also need to consider the situation where say item X drops for hunters, and all hunters have it except for 1 person but it's not their first run, pretend they have 5 points accumulated already. Since they are the only person that can use the item, would they spend their points, or would they just win the "auction" by bidding zero points. It might be good to say you have to bid at least 1 point for blues and 2 points for purples, that way the system stays fair and someone can't accumulate a huge number of points just because no one else wanted the equipment.
Also for announcing the alliance runs, we need to make sure at least 1 person is in charge of announcing the run on all three websites and updating the other guild websites with who from their guild will be joining. Otherwise it will cause everyone to be forced to check all three sites which can turn into a major hastle.
I have to go to class now but i'll add more later

typically they would not have to wager points... just as if it WERE their first raid.
or rather, they would still bid for the item, since it is a silent bidding system, and with no other bids it would be their item at the cost of 0 since that was there was no other bid.
I didn't read this post too in depth but to my knowledge use of points when bidding goes like this: item X drops play Y bids 5 player Z bids 10... player Z wins with 6 points... it is always 1 point higher cost than the next closest bidder, at least thats been my experience.

Ahhh ok, that makes sense, I have never used a point system before so this will be interesting. In the case you listed above, that means there is only one opportunity to bid, you throw in what you want and if you're highest, it's yours otherwise it's someone elses, there's no "oh, i want to increase my bid" ?

You can bid as much as you want if your out bid, but it can only be 1 point above the last bid.

Oh wait, and I just had another thought that will be a question for those of us who have never used this before. When you say "Boss Kill: 2 points" is that for each "mini" boss in the instance or is that just for the final?

Yes Boss kill points are from a mini boss. I just added Last Boss Points which are worth 5 points.
