I am a technician for CompUSA. This is in regards of a new machine.

Serial# Mxf52606sr
Brandon Lanza: The machine is having intermittent white screens. It will happen within a time frame of 5 minutes to 8 hours.
Brandon Lanza: I have tried all the steps on the main support page this did not fix the issues. I am aware of a known issue with the a114n machines. I was supplied a bios update for it, Which fixed the issue.

I was wondering if there is a similar updates for this issue.
Matt K: I understand that your system goes to white screen frequently. Am I correct?
Brandon Lanza: Yes
Matt K: What operating system do you have installed (Windows 98, Me, or XP)?
Brandon Lanza: It's a brand new machine it has windows xp Home.
Matt K: Is the system going to stand by mode?
Brandon Lanza: No.
Brandon Lanza: Machine does have a screen saver.
Matt K: I will provide you the web link which contains the steps to make changes in the power management. Please follow them.

Brandon Lanza: And how will this solve the issue. Its a video issue not power?
Matt K: Please change the standby timings and hibernate timings in the power management screen, which may resolve the issue.
Brandon Lanza: Okay. but this happends. within 5 mins, of 8 hours. How will this cause the issue? Is there not a bios update?
Brandon Lanza: Or a video card update?
Brandon Lanza: All settings are set to never. Before this. This is how I know this will not resolve this issue.
Matt K: Please follow the steps given in the web page, if the steps doesn't resolve the issue, then I will provide you the BIOS update.

HAHAHAHAHAHA this is why I do not call them So I started using this to contact them. But now this is getting bad.
