Armor Creation

For those interested in the armor I'm making for SCA, I just uploaded a couple more pics of my armor mid-creation. I've been working on some chainmail segments over the past couple days and it is coming along nicely. I'm almost done with the ankle pieces of the armor, hopefully to have them complete by mid next week or so. I just have a couple more sections of chainmail to finish and then drill/paint the metal plates, then put it all together.

I'll keep a running record of the construction of the armor up in the photos section.

Wow dude, that is really cool. It must take a long time to get anywher with it though. I would imagine its like croche, only I've never done croche before. Timewise I mean...

Heh, it took a little while to figure out how to do it, all I had to go on was some bad pics of actual Japanese armor. Now that i've got it figured out though it doesn't take too long, took about 1 hour today to make a strip that is 49 links long and 3 wide. The most time consuming part is coiling the stupid wire then cutting the rings; got that down to about 100 rings in about an hour last night.
