I know D-Bone isn't 'cause well, ya know. But everyone else. I told myself I wouldn't play till after finals but I just couldn't help myself. Yeah...wow. It's a pimpin good time. And thank god I have a top notch HL2 system. I'm running 1600x1200 with 16X antialiasing and 8x anosotropic filtering with all details maxed and holy CRAP does it look beautiful, and still plays >30fps. The water is just a sight to behold. But hey, I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir. Oh and D-Bone...relax, I have surprise for you...

I'm loving this game. It's a perfect mix of action and slight problem solving. The real challenging thing in this game is finding a stopping point! It's that good.

I'm really surprised at how well it runs on my system, too. I have a Athlon 2400+ with a ti4400 and it runs really really well. Granted it isn't at the preferred uber 1600x1200 rez, but still.

With all the hype aside, this is a MUST HAVE game!

I'll probably go ahead and get it this week since it's turkey day, but my semester is way way too insane right now. Last week nearly killed me and it wasn't even finals. If I do start this week, it might make things more difficult for me next week cause I'm going to have to force myself to stop again. It might be better for my insanity to instead reward myself for a successfully completed semester by playing after finals.

Very, very cool. I'm to a point in the game right now where I'm continously getting my ass handed to me. I'm considering turning the difficulty down to easy just so I can get past it :(.

CS Source looks just like the HL version though. I'm looking forward to seeing what some of the mod authors can do with the new engine.

Ravenholm wasn't that bad. Let me know when you get into Nova Prospect and have to setup three turrets for the first time. That's where I got stuck. Jason Nugent from the office got stuck at the same spot.

I told them how to do it. I was stuck at the end of Water Hazzard. I destroyed the helo and one of the mines killed me at the same time. Funny thing is it's a save point. So I would restart and be dead and have a helo falling on me. It was pretty cool. I'm at the point of waiting on the cart from the preacher guy. I fell off the ledge and got killed by the fast zombies. Oh well. :twisted:

How the hell do you install the damn thing!!! I actually purchased this and was all set to try it out, 5 install disks later..... Takes about 5 minutes to load the Steam crap and then says it's running in offline mode!! WTF! So I'm not able to create a damn Steam account and so I can't play the damn thing!!! I knew there was a reason I didn't purchase games before!!! Any help would be appreceiated. I have an always-on (read it Steam!) ALWAYS ON DSL connection.

No haven't loaded SP2, but not sure it isn't something along those lines. I have two routers, one is the Qwest DSL modem that I then have going into a Belkin wireless router, so I may be running like two firewalls? I'll have to look at that I guess. Been reading a lot about problems others are having with the sound stuttering and getting access to Steam.

Spawnny!!!! Have you tried downloading the steam client off steampowered.com and just creating an account there to see if that works? That might help narrow down if its a firewall or steam problem. Keep trying, you gotta play this game!!!!!

Holy shazbot Ghost, you ain't kidding. I just stopped after trying like 15 times. Any hints without giving anything away? Those guys just keep coming and coming and I can't keep the turrets up. Damn them. And there's Alex with all her great help... "Keep your turrets set up." I know bitch, STFU and help me down here!

OK. It's really simple. If you face the cages where the turrets spawn, there is a hallway on your right. In that hallway, in between where the 2 forcefields are on the second level is a hallway. Before you setup your turrets, you can stack up boxes and prepare to go up there. When you set the last turret, you can go up into that hallway and they have no way of hitting you. They can throw grenades up there, but it is easy to run back away from them. Just kill all the flying blade things they throw at you and when everything quites down sneak forward and take care of the remaining bad guys one at a time from above. When they start shooting you, simply back up. Done this way, it's really simple.

I don't think that was really something the developers intended. It just happens to work. Given the way Alex is telling you to keep you're turrets setup, I think you're supposed to actually hang around and kill them all. Anyway, you're lucky to get a response at all. I only gave you're post a quick glance and completely missed that sentence.
