It happened! It finally happened!! I got around to upgrading our forums to the latest vBulletin version. It was a long wait, for sure. Since it was so long since our last news post I went ahead and did the upgrade with very little development time. So things may be broken or missing.
A couple of things to bring to your attention:
Alot of the old features are missing with new ones to replace them. Be patient. I'm working on it.
Importing of the avatars was a messy deal. You will need to reselect your avatars. But don't do it yet. I still need to sort them.
Feel free to dig around in the Quick Links menu to see some of the new cool things at your disposal.
Welcome to the improved OOE forums!

Wow looks GREAT! I like the new look of the front page. Is this going to make it easier for dbone to post news again?

Yes, if you will notice, the current news items are posted by ArticleBot. I have a page set up that I can easily post items too and the bot picks them up via an RSS feed and creates the post. Its really slick. Look for regualr news updates throughout the days ahead.

If you guys could do me a favor and do some quality control for me while your browsing around. Let me know of any broken image links, functions that don't work, and anything else that doesn't seem quite right.
Thanks!!

Yes, I already see some great things with the new version. Before it used to clear new posts too fast. Sometimes with a lot of posts, I couldn't get through them before it no longer marked them as new. Now they last until I read them or clear them. Loving it!

Toned down?? D-bone, that's your area. I personally like all the news coming in finally. :)
The Mark All Read is found under the Quick Links menu.

To answer the burning question, "Where's the gallery?"...
There is a new feature within your profiles that is your very own personal album. You can setup all the categories you want in there. It isn't as slick as our previous gallery but it works. For us to have our gallery back the way it was it, unfortunately, is not longer a free option. The old script was purchased by PhotoPost and now they are charging for it. I'm still "hem-hawing" with the prospect of eating the cost of the new one so for the time being let's try using the built-in albums with this new version of vBulletin.

For the ArticleBot...
Its all news that I post personally. The way we have it set up is an automatic rss feed that creates the posts. It makes it way easier for me to post news and also allows for pictures and other nice things to make the posts look better.
For now I have no plans of slowing down the amount of news I post. Its easy to mark all the post as read by using the Quick Links menu at the top.

Another option if you haven't visited the site in a while and there are alot of news posts mixed with regular chat posts, you can just mark the news forum and read by going to the forums page and double clicking the forum icon:

I've setup the Arcade section again and I will be restocking the game inventory as time goes along. Don't expect too many new ones this next week as I will be out of town. Enjoy the games that are currently in there. Also, don't get too attached to your high scores. As I'm adding new games and testing things, the score will be cleared from time to time. Don't worry, I'll let you know before I do that.

Is it just me or are the links from article bot hit or miss. I mean check the antenna story. They are there but only when you mouse over them do they show as underlined. If you just look at it you don't see any links.

It's a style problem that I'm trying to work out. The problem is when I adjust the properties of the link for the posts it effects those links for the ENTIRE site. I've tried defining a specific property for just the news posts but I've run into funky problems with it. All I can say is I'm aware of the problem and it's on the list of to-do's for this site.
