So, I've never been to a Ren Fest before. I had to work a booth today and I was kind of eh about it. I got there and it actually turned out to be pretty bad ass. Our booth was across from a place where you can fence your friends. It was really slow today so I spent some time over there watching and they asked me to fight a couple of matches. After getting demolished the first round, I came back with a vengence and won my next two straight and had a great very long match for my last where I unfortunatley didn't defeat my opponent but it was still a blast. So I guess the dark side comes in when I thought, man it might be kind of fun to get the whole getup and practice fighting. So you still do fighter practice right Kyraath? Might be fun to come up and check it out sometime. :o

Holy crap that's awesome. You finally understand the extreme fun that is swordfighting. I definitely still go to fighter practice, but the past 3 or 4 weeks or so i've been too busy to go. Hopefully this coming weekend I'll be out there beating the crap out of someone. If you want, I can get you contact info for the group that meets there in the springs. SCA is a nation wide organization and I know there is a pretty good group in the springs. They come up every once in a while to join in on our practices.

Very nice, here's some of the information:

The Colorado Springs area is a part of the Outlands (http://www.outlands.org/) just like Fort Collins, so we will be allies in battle. Fort Collins area is the Barony of Unser Hafen (http://www.unserhafen.org/) (just for your reference) and CS area is the Barony of DragonsSpire (http://www.dragonsspine.org/index.htm). The contact information and directions to practice are on there, it looks like they have practice every thursday evening and sunday afternoons. If you're interested in the nationwide organization, it is the SCA (http://www.sca.org/).

Or maybe after the next gaming session, you should just stay the night and attend practice up here. We are always looking for more people to join in.
