So I'm going on a job interview soon and they are using Netware it appears because they also are using Groupwise and Lotus Notes, plus they are asking for some Netware knowledge. Anyways, is there any way I can check through the net what version of netware they might be using???

Thought maybe I could try some lookup command and see what it comes back with but so far I haven't found anything.

Any Netware gurus here????

thanks

Netware? Jesus. I'd say 6.x is probably safe yeah? Don't have any idea how to know for sure though.

Why are you applying to work for a place with such ancient technology!? Maybe you should just start your own Amish faction down there instead. :p

well, if you get access to the console, I think you can type in version. You could also telnet to port 25 on their mail server and see if it reports what version of Groupwise they are running.

Thanks Ghosty, thats the kind of assistance I was looking for. Yes I know it's all old crap but they pay and I didn't tell you it's a Federal job, so the bene's are the best.

Maybe I can get it and help them change to something from this century!! :)

Interview is on Tuesday the 23rd, so I got some brushing up to do.

I'll let ya know how it goes

6.5 sp2 is somewhat new. I'm forced to help the novell guys around the office here. GW I have no clue about. LN sucks. get used to INI files. If they have a standalone spam filter you won't get a useful response from telnetting to their address. At least not from an ironport or Doublecheck.

Thanks, I tried telneting to one of the email server ip's I found, got nothing back much. Not sure where I came up with Groupwise, they are using Lotus notes though and Word Perfect!!

So I will be brushing up on those this weekend before the interview on Tuesday
