Ok guys, most of you have had a chance to play around with the new rpg system on this board and a couple of you have found ways to easily increase your purse. This brings up some balancing issues.
Just so you all know this is a beta system. So all of you are now prestigious beta testers! :) And with beta tests comes frequent changes and also the dreaded character wipes. Don't worry, the character wipe is far off but it will be necessary.
What I would ask of all you that you play with everything and give me feedback. A couple of things I've already indentified is the General Shop needs to have limited quantities on certain items. It seems silly to have an unlimited supply of rare items. These limited quantity items would restock randomly, of course, as will certain other "special" items may pop up from time to time, too. ;) Another thing I'd like to add is random loot drops from battles. This will make the personal shops a little more interesting.
I'm still unsure what the forge system is all about other than it must be there for a future feature.
If you look at the bottom of the Character Sheet page you will see a Credits link that has the systems that were used in this mod. If anybody comes across something that you'd like to see here, let me know.
Post here your feature comments or requests.
Now go and beta test!

Heh yeah, pretty easy to make hella cash right now  One of the other things I would suggest is to change the way lvls work. Right now as a thief i'm going to gain 1 whole magnificent hit point each lvl! (wow) and the monsters i noticed are gaining more than that. Another thing is the issue of weapons. Without any weapons our little duals have the possibility of going on forever if you hit me for 1 and then i regenerate 1, then i hit you for 1 and you regenerate 1, and so on. I'll add more as i find more

Ok, here goes. Most of the stuff I've found comes from the MODs.best-dev.com Forums, in particular the Beta RPG MODS forum: http://mods.best-dev.com/forum9.php&sid=1ae11aa730f2b1de4370125b49e8c80f
First, here are a bunch of links that where posted in the forums for getting icons. We should be able to get graphics any items we want, but making and balancing the stats will probably be the most difficult part.

Also in that forum are a bunch of mods for the mod. Basically any thing that says [ADR] in the title will work with our stuff. Some of the ones I like are the Graphical Battle Sequences mod and the Quest mod. It will probably take some work to get the proper graphics and setup for some of the addons, but they could add some more fun elements for us to play with.
From what I can tell of the Forge, everything does have a purpose. The mining and improve raw materials seem to be just about making money. The repair is probably to do exactly as it says, repair items that have been damaged. Since we really don't have any items, we really can't use it currently. The recharge is to add power back into the magical items like the amulets and rings. We can currently recharge these, but I haven't tried yet. The current usage on those items is something like 600 battles, way too high! The enchant seems to allow you to put spell effects onto armor and weapons. Again since we don't have any yet, we can't really test that yet.

That MODS.best-dev.com is where I found this rpg system. I originally was wrestling with Moogie's RPG mod but implementing it was a nightmare. This ADR (Advanced Dungeons & Rabbits) system was a piece of cake, which consists of parts of Moogie's RPG mod already.
The Quest mod I'm already looking at to install, but considerable time will be required to build a world. Kyraath has already accepted the challenge in helping me with that.
I was planning on stocking the General Shop yesterday but my water heater decided to die yesterday morning and water was everywhere. It took me all day to get that cleaned and get a new water heater bought and installed. I'll begin stocking the store tomorrow, so start looking for new items appearing on the shelves.
I'm a little nervous about adding the quest mod because I don't know what that's going to do to our bandwidth usage. Only way to find out is install it and monitor it. I just don't want to end up with a sudden $200 webhost bill.

Sorry for not getting the things done I said I'd be working on but life items have been interferring with my hobbies.
Stay patient and stay tuned folks. Consider my time like Blizzard's. One week = one month. :P

It seems that defeating monsters doesn't give enough xp.

that is for sure. and I don't see how you all are getting money. I have to heal myself after just about every battle just to stay alive to another one so I can't get money or equipment. Help please, what am I doing wrong?

One word: mining. You can mine and then use the improvement skill to get stuff that sells or thousands of gold. Then you dump that money into the mining and improvement skills and you'll make money like crazy. It takes a lot of clicking on a couple buttons and dropdowns over and over, so it isn't very exciting.
