At QuakeCon 2007 this weekend, Activision and id Software revealed that Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will touch down for the PC on October 2nd in the States, while European gamers will see it a few days earlier on September 28th. No date has been pegged for either the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 ports of the game, but those were always expected to ship after the PC release.
Over the weekend, id Software announced that all of its titles will soon appear on Valve's Steam download service, but it remains unclear whether Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will be available on day one. Our very own Darren Gladstone spoke with id's John Carmack at QuakeCon, and Carmack's comments don't shed much light on the situation.
"I don't know if you'll see Enemy Territory: Quake Wars released day and date with the retail release," said Carmack. "I don't know that side of the business -- but it isn't like Steam or Source is a competitor."
