It's sad but there will always be people who own computers who know nothing about them and won't take the time to learn. Unfortunately I don't have any idea how to make these types of people be more responsible.

Ideally everyone should be responsible for themselves but unless you force feed some people they'll never learn. Maybe computer manufacturers should take a more proactive role in educating the consumers?

Well I think if more shops like ours try to educate people then the word would get out faster. I mean a few years ago, no one was running virus protection. But though continual harping and educating, a vast majority of machines these days have antivirus on them. I think also companies need to put a real time scanner for spyware in peoples machines when they buy them. Obviously the big two (Norton and McAfee) are going to get into this big time in their next releases so perhaps that will help the situation as well.
