So for those of us who are already using Vista, what version are you using? Is there any reason to drop the extra $100 that the Ultimate Edition costs you. I read the description of all of them and it doesn't really sound like there is a need to drop that extra money. What is everybody else's take on it?

You will more than likely want to get Home Premium. I am currently running Ultimate only because I can. The only other big difference between Home Premium and Ultimate is you lose the windows based backup utility (which isnt that great) and remote desktop. Also, I just noticed that Premium has the media center stuff in it too. So yeah, I'd use that.

Are you running 64 or 32 bit? I thought I heard to run games you need to stick with 32 bit. Obviously it has been a while since I've upgraded ;).

Unfortunately, I agree. I sooo want to live in a 64bit world but 64bit support just isn't there yet.

Happy Birthday!!!

Anyone familiar with this offer? Looks like if you have a valid key then you can purchase two additional ones for $50 each?

So I have had vista on my system for less than 24 hours and it has already crashed once and it seems that my mouse is jittery. Anybody else seeing their mouse (mine is a Logitech G7 with latest setpoint drivers) behaving erratically?

Same mouse I have, mine is rock solid.

I added my old wired mouse and it seems to work fine. However, I noticed the version of Nero and Power DVD that came with my brand new burner doesn't support Vista. SON OF A BITCH!!! I have to say I am wishing I had just bought another XP license. At least all my shit would work............Can you tell I'm pissed?

Nero sucks anyway, its getting too bloated. If you still have the OOE DVD from gaming, check the utils folder, I put Ashampoo on there. Its a great piece of burning software without all the bloat. I think PowerDVD has updates for Vista support.

Things are gonna be a bit bumpy at first with a brand new OS. All the hardware and software vendors are dragging their feet just like they always do. The same thing happened when XP first came out. Just hang in there and roll with the punches. It'll keep getting better.

So I just got a new laptop with Vista Home Premium installed. So far I like the look of it, but for an AMD 64 x2 CPU's it doesn't seem that fast yet. Especially booting up, once it's up it seems good. Biggest increase in speed I have found is running multiple apps, they soar!
No mouse problems, but it's on a laptop so who knows. Trying to get my older PDA to synch with it and it seems to work ok, just not working well with MS Pocket Money.

Still getting things setup and exploring, so will have to write more later. Overall I give it 4 out of 5 though.
