UCCS SPLAT LAN party

Well D-Bone and I went to the SPLAT at UCCS last Saturday. I think they had about 50 people there tops. All I've got to say is they need OOE to show them how to game. About half of these crazy guys played Desert Combat mod for BF1942 ALL fricken day! They played Call of Duty multiplayer but all they want to do is play stupid team deathmatch!

As far as tournements go well Dbone and I played in the CoD tourney's but on different teams. We represented well, tops on the servers for both sides in each match but our teammates let us down so we both ended up not taking the marbles. If everyone else would have been there we would have destroyed them so badly it wouldn't have been funny.

So perhaps next time if I get some more lead time on it we can get a larger showing? It's not as big as RAMCON was but we could still have a good time if we showed them how it's done!

With a little more lead time, I would love to join in on something like this. It's been WAY too long since we've been to a HUGE session (stupid ramcom). How often do they do this splat thing?

Hard to say how often it will happen. The guy who is in charge of it is graduating this year, so this was the last one he is doing. Hopefully some of the other students will keep it going but I wouldn't count on another one happening this school year.

Holy crap. You know it is so funny you say that. As I was driving to school today they have a huge colorado lottery billboard on the side of the freeway that shows the current jackpot and it said 13 million. As I drove past it I thought to myself, damn I really need to win the lottery so I can stop working and just finish school! I tell you what if I win I will supplement you enough to get you through school and you can do the same for me, deal? :D

And also from what I can tell they usually do 2 SPLAT LAN parties, one in the beginning of the semester and one just after finals. So it's possible there may be another one in mid May, we'll just have to see. BTW: SPLAT stands for Students Pushing the Limits of Advanced Technology. Kind of corny but whatever.
